Raelene Walker , M.D.
I completed my undergraduate studies at Stanford University, majoring in feminist studies and biology. I attended medical school at Columbia University in New York City, and then returned to California to complete my pediatric residency training at Children’s Hospital Oakland. I remained for an additional year in Oakland as a pediatric chief resident and working as a hospitalist, then moved east again to New Haven, Connecticut. My family and I then came to Santa Cruz in the fall of 2002 and I have been thrilled to be a part of Capitola Pediatrics since 2003.
A central aspect of my approach to pediatrics in teamwork. It truly is a privilege for me to be able to work with families and to share in the joys and challenges of promoting healthy growth and development of children. I also appreciate the opportunity to help guide families through some of the many difficulties that this process can entail. As a parent myself, I continue to gain insights into how to better advocate for and take care of children. I am an active member and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. |
